New Online Community Program

summer 2020

The Wellenschlagen-Community is open to everyone. Here we are welcoming both sustainability-experts and those who are interested in sustainability and want to integrate this more into their daily life.

You want to change your habits but don’t know how to start? In our community, you can join other students of Kiel University, get informed about sustainability and try out tips for a more conscious lifestyle. Take part together with other students of CAU in our sustainability challenges that focus on topics like waste reduction, consumption and food. Besides, we offer not only information about a sustainable lifestyle in Kiel, but also interviews and presentations with exciting guest speakers.

On Instagram and Facebook, you can connect with the other members of our community and meet all together in a Zoom-call at the beginning of the semester. Depending on the overall situation, there will be physical meetings on the campus later in the semester.

 the Tandem Program

Previous Seminar:

Summer semester 2019

With the sustainability tandem program students could team up with someone to make their everyday life more sustainable. They could either do a skill share with their tandem partner or take on a sustainability challenge together. With their tandem partner they could, for example, learn how to grow their own food using a permaculture approach, reduce their waste production, repair their bikes and make their own cosmetics.

Every two weeks, a tandem meet-up was organised during which participants could share their thoughts and feelings about their experience. During each bi-weekly meeting, a workshop about a different sustainability topic was organised. The participants learned and discussed, for example, about seasonal food, created their own sustainable sun-screen or had a potluck together.
